I go away for three months

...and the peezbikers blog descends into S&M discussions. Well, I'm back, and with some fresh new images to inspire and confuse. Work sent me to Rome for a week, and I took this shot just off a main street. Someone phoned me, and I had to step into a quiet place to talk, and came across this orange Kawasaki. Hoochie-mama, what a sweet ride! Notice the contextual graffiti.

I'm lucky I didn't get mugged, flashing my you-beaut camera all over the alleyway.

Back home in Soton, my own Gilera scooter has many functions. When it's not helping me get to work, it's working hard on a Sunday morning as a pillow drier. Instead of Gilera Runner, they should call it Gilera Sunner.

I'm going to Shanghai tomorrow for a ten day holiday. I don't expect to see much there in the way of motorcycles. Guess I'll have to enjoy the xiaolong bao instead.

Get into it Ren. The world awaits your comeback.

The time is right

It's after hours, and someone is vacuuming the office right behind me, so hey, there was never a better time to get inspired and write more blog.

Has anyone seen this bike on the road? I would ride it in a second, but at £4000 second hand, I am unlikely to buy it. The SV is not much cheaper either.

I am seriously considering getting a 125/150cc scooter. They are cheap to run, and should be perfect for the 20 minute ride to work. With the Summer coming up, it's looking good. The roads here are so narrow, it's far better suited, I think.

If any of you riders knows a good kickass scooter - looks and performance - I would love to hear from you.

Man I hate the sound of vacuum cleaners. Except when I'm vacuuming.

Global Roaming

Today i'm suffering from Vacation withdrawal symptoms - sudden urges to eat junk food, irregular toilet breaks, and random requirement for power naps. During the break I finally had the opportunity to watch the film "The Motorcycle Diaries" , the story of a young Ernesto Guevera and his journey around South America which helped to shape the historical icon he would become. Having some 'extra' time to browse through some new clips online I came across an article about Steve Crombie. His dream: to be the youngest person to circum navigate the world by land and sea on a motorcycle. Thus far he has travelled over 90,000 kms and through 26 countries - all of it on his Motorcycle! The journey is documented at http://www.loston.com/V2/ and his next stop is Siberia...

Something I saw in Milan

Boys, I passed an Aprilia billboard on my way to Linate airport, but unfortuately it happened too fast for a photo. The image was thus:

A wall, with two guys. One guy is standing with his back to the viewer, obviously pissing on the wall. The other guy is straddling his red Aprilia, and somehow contorting his body to also piss on the wall!

What the?! How would that work in real life?

Sorry Pink Pocket

My rego was finally up this month and me being me left the registration to the last minute. In a rush a headed out to obtain my compulsory pink slip at BBs. Fingers crossed that everything was going to go smoothly and only set me back 17 smackers, I rode in on my red nose reindeer. "I'd like my Pink Slip please" I said to the man behind the counter, he replied, "That'll be $17". I paid, he filled out the paper work and off we went together to inspect the bike. He stared at the bike for a minute or so .....then.."Sorry mate, I can't pass ya, front tyre is cracking up, rear brakes are gooonnnee, chain is loose, front fork seals defintely need replacing, and i recommend you change the rear tyre as it's showing some minor cracking as well. That'll be $646, thanks mate".
